Oscar - Week Fifty Three

So last night on Tuesday, we drove as far as we could without falling asleep.  We made it to the middle of nowhere in Kansas.

Wednesday we drove the rest of the way to Denver.  Oscar did great!  We did stop a little bit more than we would've if it were just adults in the car and whoever wasn't driving sat in the backseat with Oscy to keep him entertained and happy.  But overall it was pretty similar to previous road trips.  We made it to Denver in time for dinner so that is a win for sure!  We stayed with Jose's sister and her kids.  Oscar loved exploring a new house with all of it's nooks and things to play with and put in his mouth.

On his actual birthday Jose and I and Oscar went to Casa Bonita for lunch.  It was actually pretty fun and the food was good.  Oscar only touched the flame on his candle for a second before we pushed his hand out of the way.  He really liked watching the divers and the crazy characters running around all over the place.  After lunch we went to Target to pick up a few things and Oscy loved bumping around in the cart.  We also went to a food truck park to see a friend for dinner.

The next day we went to a Tiny Town with Jose's brother and family.  We rode on a little train around the area and then played on the playground.  Oscar really loved the swings.

That evening Jose and I and some of his family and friends went to a Rockies game while his sister watched Oscar.

On Satuday we drove to boulder so Jose could see his college town.

On Sunday we had Oscar's Denver party! We got a cake from Costco (so easy btw) and we grilled and had tacos.  This time Oscy really went for it on the cake.  It wasn't so new to him and everyone was talking to each other so they weren't paying as much attention to him.  =)  So many people came - family from all over, friends, everyone who loves Jose showed up to the party.  It was amazing to see everyone.  Oscar was too excited to play with his presents, so I ended up doing most of the unwrapping.

On Monday evening we started the drive home again. And by Tuesday evening we were back home.
