Painting Commissions are open for next year!
If you’ve ever seen one of my paintings and thought to yourself, ‘I’d love that if it were just a little bigger’ or ‘I’d love to put that in my office if only it had more blue’ this is the place to be. Commissioning a custom work of art means that you and I will work together to make your vision come to life.
Exclusive
Commissioned works are available in limited quantities and never reproduced without your expressed permission. I hope that this is a unique piece of fine art that you cherish and value for generations to come. Right now I have space for one or two commissioned paintings per month.
Custom
Commissioned works are also very customizable within the confines of the type of art that I create. You can decide what size your work of art will be, what color palette I will use for your piece, and the framing to match the style of where you will be hanging the piece.
Choices Available
I know not everyone who wants a beautiful work of art in their life comes from an art background so feel free to ask me anything and I will be happy to answer in non-artsy lingo! Below are some of the choices you can make.
Watercolor on Paper or Acrylic on Canvas
First you will choose between a watercolor painting on paper or an acrylic painting on canvas. Take a look at the paintings I have available for sale now to get an idea of the kind of work that I do. All of the paper and canvas that I use is of the highest quality and will not sag, fade, or yellow over time. All watercolor paintings are framed with UVA/UVB rated glass and all canvas paintings are finished with high quality varnish to protect the colors from fading over time.
Size
Each individual watercolor painting can be any size up to 36x48 inches. If you have a larger space to fill I can work on a series of paintings for you. As for my paintings on canvas - those can be any size - if there’s a will there’s a way.
Colors
Checkout the colors I have used in my work up to this point. However if you don’t see the color that you have in your mind let me know - I can find or mix more colors than those shown. If you aren’t an art person and don’t want to pick specific colors I can also work from a photo of the room where you are going to hang this painting in or a general feeling such as ‘rainy days’ or ‘the feeling of sunshine’. We’ll talk and make sure we are on the same page before I start painting.
Framing
I will have your painting professionally framed with a simple black frame but if you choose we can add on custom framing to match your home or office.
Pricing and Payments and Delivery
Process
Submit the form below to get the conversation going. We will talk and discuss all the details of your painting and when we have agreed on all the details I will send you an invoice. A 50% non-refundable deposit of the total price will be due to reserve your delivery month and start my creative process on your piece. I will be in contact with you if I have any questions and to show you photos of the final painting and the final product including the framing. The final payment of your painting will be due prior to shipment.
Pricing & Payments
A deposit of 50% is required to reserve your commission spot. The remaining value will be due upon shipment.
With the additional time, energy, communication, and creativity that goes into completing a commissioned painting, there is a 15% increase in price for these pieces in comparison to my other works. Industry standards are 15-20%.
Delivery
We are only shipping to North America at the moment. Most pieces will be mailed to you through the tried and true U.S. Postal Service. Larger works may need to be shipped by a different service but all packages will have trackable shipping numbers.
Returns and Refunds
The 50% deposit is non-refundable. This deposit is used to purchase the supplies needed for your piece and will not be returned to you. We will be in communication before and throughout the artistic process so please be sure we are on the same page before you reserve your commissioned work with this 50% deposit.
If you are not happy with the final piece of art please do not pay the final 50% and please let me know before I ship it to you.
If for whatever reason you are not happy with the piece once it arrives, email me within 5 days from the date of arrival. Return shipping will be at the cost of the buyer and original shipping costs are not refundable. You will be refunded the second 50% of the price you paid upon return of the work.
If art was damaged in shipping, photo evidence is required and after the damaged work is returned, we can work together on a new piece.
