Oscar - Week Three

This has been a big week for Oscar!!! Oscar got moved upstairs to the 4th floor NICU - into a private room. It has been so much quieter and calmer. Much more peaceful and good for growing! Lots of people came up to visit Oscar and they got to hold him since he is doing so well! Oscar’s ambilical cord stump fell off on Thursday. Oscar started sucking on his fingers and thumb a little this week - it’s so cute!

He started taking bottles on Wednesday and he had done SO well with them. He went from taking about 50% or so by mouth on Wednesday to now being up to 83% yesterday and 91% today. The doctors and nurses are starting to talk about sending him home soon! They are going to do the car seat test tomorrow and they made me watch a CPR video today that everyone has to watch before they go home.

I have had some long hard days of driving back and forth to the hospital - so it would be so fantastic to get to bring Oscar home! Fingers crossed!!!
