Oscar - Week Six

This week has been sorta boring - busy but boring. Our days consist of feeding, pumping, sleeping, and changing diapers on a constant loop. Hank likes having me home all day but still gets jealous of all the attention I’m giving the baby. He has found a way to become part of feeding Oscar by snuggling up as close as doggly possible. It’s pretty cute as long as he doesn’t step directly on Oscar.

My bestie brought her kids over this weekend so that our kids could meet each other for the first time. It was adorable. The kids love my baby, although I think they thought he’d be able to play with them a little more. Lol

We also went to Jose’s work picnic on Sunday. We showed up late and left early but we made it!

Oscar has definitely grown out of his preemie clothes, he looks like an over stuffed sausage when we try to put him in that size. However we did learn the difference between newborn size and size zero…we are not ready for zero sized clothes - they are laughably huge on Oscar.

In my downtime I’ve been working to get Oscar’s room decorated. My goal is to have it finished by his due date, next Monday. Hopefully I’ll have pics next week.

Oscar has been awake a lot more often even when he is not eating! He is starting to look around a lot more and I think he must be focusing better because he makes a funny shocked face sometimes with his eyes as big and open as possible, as if he is seeing things for the first time-which he probably is. His eyes are still a dark grey color which is beautiful. I doubt they will stay the same color forever but I wouldn’t be mad if they did.

Oscar loves to sleep with his hands up by his face. He still will sleep pretty much anywhere but he is partial to my arms more and more.

He has also definitely found his voice. He has a much louder cry these days especially when he’s hungry. When he’s really mad he makes this face where his eyes and nose are all scrunched together and his mouth opens wide in a big line like Oscar the Grouch and his tongue is sticking out a little in a straight line and it shakes with his cries. Even when he cries he is adorable.
