Oscar - Week Four

Huge week for all of us this week! I gave Oscar his first real bath on Wednesday at the hospital and then on Thursday we got to bring Oscar home!!! Oscar is no longer in the hospital! Jose and I are ecstatic to have him home with us!!!

Hank, our Boston Terrier, is starting to settle in with Oscar. He is definitely curious about the baby. Always sniffing him and peeking over the sides of his chair and bassinet to see who is making all those grunty noises. Every once in a while Hank will whine at Oscar as if he wants the baby to come play with him! I think Hank is confused about why the new puppy won’t come play with him. LOL!

We have already started going on mini adventures. We have gone on a walk around the neighborhood and a few car rides from the house to various doctor’s appointments. We even went for a quick family outing to the Hispanic Festival in Soulard to get food.

We are starting to get into a sort of routine. Oscar eats about every three hours, then I pump and wash the bottles while he sleeps. Then I have an hour or two to do whatever needs to get done the most - eating, cooking, napping, and writing this blog have been at the top of the list most days. Most of the time Oscar will sleep in his crib during this time but some days he is a little fussier and I’ve taken to wearing him in a carrier around the house. It’s actually kind of nice because I can hold him and get a few things done around the house at the same time. Plus he is still pretty light right now so it’s not too hard to carry him. Although he is definitely growing! Yesterday at our Feeding Clinic appointment, he weighed 6 pounds and an ounce!!! I have a 6 pound baby already! Crazy!!
