Oscar - Week Twelve

Wednesday we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to visit. We wanted to visit to lift Grandma’s spirits the day before her hip replacement surgery. Oscar was sticking his tongue out at grandpa and smiling at grandma.

We did some tummy time on Thursday but the big event from that day was a visit by our local alley cat! Sometimes when the weather is nice I leave the back door open so that Hank, our dog, can go in and out to the back yard without me having to open the door every single time he wants to go out. This practice has increased now that Oscar is home because inevitably Hank will need to go out right when I sit down to feed the baby. So the door was open for most of the day since it was nice out. Oscar had just fallen asleep in my arms after a bottle, Hank was sleeping on the couch next to us, and I heard a noise in the kitchen. I look over and what do I see but a tiny black kitten eating food out of Hank’s food bowl! I must have gasped or aww’ed or something because as soon as I looked over the kitten looked at me and then ran out the door. When she ran away Hank finally clocked her and chased after her out the door barking. Some guard dog I have - lol!

We went to my dad’s house on Friday and Oscar was showing off his ever increasing head control by lifting right off my dad into nearly a standing position.

We got lots of snuggles in this week since it’s my last week of maternity leave. Oscar tried out and enjoyed his new boppy pillow. He stayed awake for awhile in it and then fell asleep in it. The only problem is that Hank also love the new boppy pillow and when I picked up Oscar out of that spot, Hank snuggled right into the pillow. What a goof ball of a dog!

Oscar also tried on his baseball hat and he looks pretty adorable if you ask me. =)

I went back to work for the first time today and it was weird. I don’t really know how I feel about it yet. I’m still processing.
